NATURAL INSTINCT - WORKING DOG

Not that long ago dogs  and cats were happy to scavenge for themselves, feeding on raw meat and bones, it is only since living with humans with our demand with convenience that our animals have been exposed to modern day processed food. It has been recognised that that cooking and excessive processing dramatically reduces the amounts of essential vitamins, enzymes and fatty acids that sit in abundance in raw food diet.

From Natural Instincts experiences they have witnessed significant improvements to health and vitality to dogs and cats that have made the transition to their Biologically Appropriate Raw Food. All manner of uncomfortable skin, coat, teeth and joint conditions as well as long -standing problems related to digestion, breath and aggressive behaviour have been resolved with pets fed on the raw diet, it is for this reason that more and more vets are now recommending a raw diet for the animals in their care

INTRODUCING RAW FOOD

The recommended transition period for either a dog or cat to Natrual Instinct raw diet is a gradual phased transition spanning between 7-10 days,

Converting your pet to a high protien raw meat and bone diet is easy and convenient.

DAY 1

Substitue a spoonful of kible ( or high carbohydrate, wet processed food) for a spoonful of raw diet. The spoon size will depend on the size of the dog or cat. For example, a teaspoon for a toy breed dog and a tablespoon for a large breed dog

DAY 2 ONWARDS

Each subsequant day substitute slightly more of the raw diet until full transition is acheived

THINGS WORTH NOTING

If your pet has  loose stool at any stage, Natrual Instinct recommend reducing the amount of raw food for three days to stabalise the stool prior to increasing the raw food levels again.

If your pet is elderly or dealing with any complex chronic disease e.g end stage cancers, animal on antacids or high levels of immune-suppressive drug therapy, then Natrual Instinct recommend you get expert help prior to beginning the transitionto a raw diet.

For the first month of feeding raw, digestive enzymes and probiotics can be added to the diet for dogs or cats that have any dietary issues or that have been prone to diarrhoes or constipation.
